UVA Tackle Eric Smith Likes Broncos Mendenhall's Message

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-- Virginia offensive tackle Eric Smith met new UVA head coach Bronco Mendenhall on Monday, when Mendenhall was in Charlottesville. Smith talks about his initial impression of his new coach in this 1-on-1 interview with Scout's HooNation.com.

Eric Smith only heard Bronco Mendenhall speak for about 90 minutes, 20 minutes in a player meeting and then an hour in his press conference, but in those quick exchanges he knew what type of coach the Cavaliers were getting.

"He came in ready to display a message to us," said Smith. "He definitely did. We all got it.

"We're definitely glad he is here," he added.
