ALERT: UVA Basketball Games Rescheduled

The big winter storm set to hit Charlottesville this weekend continues to wreck havoc on Virginia athletics. On Thursday UVA announced that the Cavaliers' basketball schedule has now been altered due to the incoming storm.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia-Syracuse men’s basketball game scheduled for Saturday (Jan. 23) at noon at John Paul Jones Arena has been re-scheduled for Sunday (Jan. 24) at 7 p.m. due to the threat of inclement weather. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for Sunday’s game. The game will be televised by ESPN2.


In addition, Virginia’s game at Wake Forest on Monday (Jan. 25) at 9 p.m. has been re-scheduled for Tuesday (Jan. 26) at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast online by ESPN3.


The Virginia women’s basketball home game on Sunday (Jan. 24) against Pitt will tip off at its scheduled time of 1 p.m.


Additional updates regarding transportation, parking and road conditions for Sunday’s game will be posted to and UVA Athletics social media outlets. Local media agencies will also be notified.
