UVA Pursuing Four-Star Erik Swenson

Erik Swenson is back on the market. The four-star offensive tackle reopened his recruitment last week and has since seen plenty of schools come into the picture. Virginia is one school showing interest. Swenson discusses the Cavaliers.

Erik Swenson is back on the market. The Downers Grove (Ill.) South offensive tackle decommitted from Michigan last week and is now seeing plenty of suitors lining up.

"WisconsinNorth CarolinaMissouriTexas TechRutgersMiami Illinois and Northwestern," are just some of the schools Swenson says has shown interest.

Bronco Mendenhall and the Cavaliers also did not waste time. The Virginia head coach and offensive line coach Garrett Tujague  joined the race for the four-star offensive lineman, taking an in-home visit with the Swenson.

"They're a good coaching staff, and I think they are really going to turn that program around," said Swenson. They just want to work hard and develop kids to be the best they can be. If they can have kids buy into Virginia and the staff then they will be successful."

Swenson is trying to learn more about UVA as he begins to narrow down his list.

"Trying to get it to a top five tomorrow (Wednesday)"

Swenson has not set any visit plans as of Tuesday night, but he knows what he is looking for, "great academics backed up by a good football team."
