'Hoos Trending: UVA Hosts Official Visitors

Virginia football is set to host its first big official weekend during Bronco Mendenhall's tenure. HooNation.com takes a look at who is expected to be on Grounds, who is still left on the board, and if the Cavaliers should be on commitment watch this weekend.

After last week's snowstorm Virginia football is finally set to host its big recruiting weekend. The Cavaliers will host several recruits this weekend on official visits. Here is a look at the expected visitor list:

UVA on Commitment Watch?

Virginia is expecting dual threat quarterback DeVante Cross this weekend. The Pennsylvania signal caller picked up his offer from Bronco Mendenhall and his staff in December and has been high on the Cavaliers since. Cross will take his first visit to UVA this weekend with his family. Cross told HooNation.com if everything checks out, he could see himself committing before leaving Grounds. So commitment watch is on.

Other Targets Visiting

Former BYU running backs pledge Wayne Taulapapa will visit UVA for the first time. He also holds offers from UNLV and Colorado.

Virginia has some work to do with defensive tackle Trysten Hill.  UCF is the favorte to land the Sunshine State standout. The Cavaliers offered Hill this past week, but Central Florida has been the team to beat for a while. As of right now trending away from 'Hoos, but that of course is before the visit.

2016 Class Visiting

UVA will also host many of the members in its 2016 class. All of them are solid to the Cavaliers:

Who is Left on the Board

Four-star offensive tackle Erik Swenson picked up plenty of suitors after decommitting from Michigan, including UVA.  Swenson told HooNation.com that he is interested in Virginia, however, no official visit was set as of Thursday night. Swenson is expected to visit Oklahoma this weekend, and is high on Wisconsin-however the Badgers are only offering him as a grayshirt. Swenson has said he might be willing to extend his recruitment past signing day. I think right now the Cavs are a long shot option.

Rashad Weaver also saw plenty of interest after his own decommitment from the Wolverines. Virginia once again was among the group showing interest, however, Weaver has only set two officials: Pittsburgh and Penn State.
