#4. Vicqual Hall The quarterback position will be under the microscope this fall in Charlottesville and do not be surprised if freshman Vicqual Hall sees some action in case the Hoos need a spark. The Cavalier coaching staff did not take two quarterbacks in this class to let them collect dust on the bench if they are up to the task. Hall will have to work hard on reading college defenses and the speed of the game.
#3. Mike Brown Although the Cavalier secondary will be a solid one this coming season, Mike Brown could always crack the lineup in other ways simply because of his speed. Brown could easily work his way into kick-off returns or punt returns, as well as defensive special teams. One other area Brown could contribute to right away would be at the inside slot position on offense until his time comes to start on defense.
#2. Mikell Simpson Simpson is a game breaker, and while UVA already has some tough runners in the backfield, you can never have too many solid running backs in your stable. Simpson may be the most physically ready of the freshmen coming in on offense. Simpson is another kid who could contribute at the WR position early just to get on the field and stretch the defense.
#1. Olu Hall Cav fans have waited a year to see Hall suit up the Orange & Blue and attack the opposing offense. The wait will not be long to see this man-child make waste of quarterbacks and running backs on Saturdays this fall. Hall will receive excellent coaching from Al Groh and his staff and will be prepared to make a big impact for the 2005 edition Virginia Cavaliers.
