Grimes is a hard working and versatile player from the Philadelphia area is now in a post graduate year at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. Back in Philly Grimes was forced to play power forward due to a lack of height on his Germantown Academy squad. For coach Jason Smith's Brewster Academy squad though Grimes looks to be making a big move from the post to the perimeter as a small forward or shooting guard.
Smith took some time to discuss the latest as to where the Philly native's recruitment stands currently. "Brian Grimes is the kind of kid that you have to see multiple times to appreciate him. If he had his choice at this time he'd go to Virginia or Stanford in a heartbeat. Lately he's been hearing from most of the A-10 schools and Ivy League schools though. Virginia's interest has dropped some but they have inquired about him from time to time. He actually visited LaSalle this weekend and will be back to school on Wednesday."
Brewster Academy's Brian Grimes
Currently Boston College, LaSalle, George Washington, Virginia, and the aforementioned A-10 and Ivy League schools are the primary schools recruiting Grimes. His tremendous effort on the court also relays into the classroom as well as Brian is one of the most intelligent students in the classroom as well.
We'll continue to track Brian Grimes and his recruitment here at HooNation.com which was recently named the feature site in UMI's ACC Basketball Handbook 2006 for the inside scoop on Virginia Basketball.
