2 UVa Commits Earn Shrine Bowl Selections

Two future Virginia Cavaliers have earned the right to represent their home state of North Carolina in a game deemed the pinnacle of excellence for high school football in the Tar Heel state.

Two commits in the Virginia Cavaliers' class of 2006 have earned a prestigious honor in their home state of North Carolina. The announcement of the 2005 Shrine Bowl teams were made and two future Hoos made the team.

Wide receiver Chris Dalton and quarterback O.C. Wardlow were named to the team which rewards the best seniors in the state of North Carolina. Those seniors will battle their counterparts from South Carolina on December 17th at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The game is set to start at 1:00 PM EST. Tickets are $10 for general admission or $20 for reserve seats.

Chris Dalton
6'2, 165 pounds
West Iredell (N.C.) HS

Chris posesses 4.35 speed and that's something that can't be taught. His addition to the team brings another vertical passing threat that has been needed.
O.C. Wardlow
5'11, 180 pounds
Mount Tabor (N.C.) HS

O.C. reminds many of current UVa quarterback Marques Hagans with his versatility and elusiveness. He may end up being a defensive back but he will get a chance to play quarterback more than likely. A truly superb athlete.
