Tiki Barber Runs Wild Over Redskins

Former Virginia Cavalier running back Tiki Barber and his New York Giants teammates blasted the Washington Redskins 36-0 on Sunday. The Giants organization was remembering their late owner Wellington Mara and Barber lead the way with a career day.

Sunday afternoon saw an emotional New York Giants squad face their arch enemy Washington Redskins. The Giants were coping with the loss of their much loved owner Wellington Mara who died last Tuesday of cancer. The Giants came prepared and pummeled the Redskins 36-0.

Former Hoo Tiki Barber had a career day as he showed no signs of slowing down after 9 years in the NFL running for 206 yards on 24 carries with one touchdown. After scoring on a four yard run Barber showed everyone what makes him one of the classiest players in the league by giving the ball to Wellington Mara's grandson Tim McDonnell.

"I told him, 'This is for you, this is for your grandfather,'" Barber said after the game. "It was a big day and a special day for me, especially considering the events of the past week. It's something I'll never forget."

With the win the Giants sit alone atop the NFC East with a 5-2 record as the Redskins fell to 4-3. From the outset the Giants defense set the tone as Washington struggled to move the ball all day long. Redskin quarterbacks were sacked 5 times and and the Giants forced 4 turnovers as well. The shutout was the first for the Giants in over seven years.
