Kirchner Could Play Either Way

One of the top two-way linemen in the state of Virginia this fall, Rockbridge County's Jon Kirchner shows an instinct to find the ball on defense and push back opponents on offense.

"Jon is really a kid with a great work ethic, and he will make a name for himself again this year," says Rockbridge head coach Billy Mills. "Last year he had 58 tackles, 20 for loss, four sacks, 15 quarterback hurries with four causing an interception. On offense he graded out at 82% and had 29 knockout blocks."

With great stats, teams are starting to call Coach Mills, but Jon knows what he wants.

"Definately Virginia Tech," says the 6-foot-5, 260 pounder. "I also like Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia, but there is something about them that I have always liked. I am going to camp there this summer along with Tennessee."

Interest is also coming from Stanford, Yale, Duke Wake Forest, and Maryland, but distance could play a factor in those teams entering his final list.
