Daniel Green Q&A

6'9 big man Daniel Green out of Grapevine, Texas has seen his recruitment really pick up in the past month. Green has picked up multiple Division I offers including one from Wake Forest. DeaconSports recently spoke with Daniel about his recruitment and upcoming visit to Wake Forest.

DeaconSports: Congrats on your recent offers. I hear recruiting has been hectic for you lately.
Daniel Green: "Yes sir it has. Thankfully my mom and dad have helped me sort through the process. I have been talking to a lot of coaches lately and taking some visits. It is actually a bit tiring but I am blessed to have this opportunity."

DS: People I have spoken with, including your high school coach, just rave about your improvement as a player. What do you attribute that to?
DG: "I have been blessed to have the chance to work with good coaches. Since May I have been working with a big man coach in this area named Al Johnson. We work together 8-10 hours a week in addition to my regular practice schedule. Also, my parents really push me to get better."

DS: What offers do you have at this point?
DG: "Wake, Cal, Virginia Tech, Tulsa, San Diego State, Fresno State, SMU, VCU, Bradley, and some others."

DS: What was your reaction when Wake Forest offered?
DG: "It happened week or so ago and I was very excited. I grew up an ACC fan. Both my parents graduated from North Carolina and I grew up there. I have grandparents that live in Fayetteville and Jacksonville and an uncle that lives in Greensboro. I feel very blessed to have an offer from Wake."

DS: What are you looking for in a college?
DG: "Academics are first and foremost. Also, the character and values of the coaches and how well I fit in with their current players."

DS: Any idea when you would like to make a decision?
DG: "My parents and I have discussed it and I would like to decide next week. I am visiting Cal this week and Wake Forest this weekend. After that, I think I will be ready to decide."

After speaking with Green, it is obvious that he is a very high character kid that is well grounded. He is an extremely hard working kid that strives to get better and be successful both on and off the court.
