Hunter Ready For Season

6'5 shooting guards with a big-time shooting touch aren't very east to find. One such guard is R.J. Hunter out of Pike High in Indianapolis. Hunter is quickly closing in on the beginning of the 2010 season and he can't wait to get started.

"I'm excited to get things going," said R.J. Hunter. "Our team goal is to win the state title. I just want to do whatever I can to help the team win. I want to expand my role on the team this year and not be known as just a shooter."

Hunter's shooting touch is what sticks out at this time but he can bring much more to the table. "Obviously my shooting is a strength right now but I also have a good basketball I.Q. I am also a pretty good defender both off an on the ball. I have been working on shooting off the dribble and everything else to help diversify my game."

Hunter has been hearing from a lot of Division I schools including Wake Forest in recent months. "I hear the most from Wake, Miami, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Iowa and Michigan State."

At this point, the Demon Deacons have made a positive impression on the 2012 guard. "Wake is very high on my list," he said. "I talk with Coach Battle a lot. I have also talked with Coach Bzdelik. I watched them play Hampton the other night and like their style of play. Wake is doing a great job recruiting me right now. I hope to get down there this season for a game."

Hunter indicated he is not in a hurry to make a college decision at this time and is focusing on his high school season.
