All-Star QB Hearing From WFU

Patrick Pinkney is an athletic quarterback, but he wants coaches to notice his arm. Pinkney lists Wake as one of the many schools after him early on in the recruiting process.

Pine Forest (NC) quarterback Patrick Pinkney has known that he would be a national target since the end of his freshman year. The time is drawing closer for Pinkney, and the schools are finally starting to take notice.

"Right now it is North Carolina State, North Carolina, and Notre Dame up there (as favorites)," says the 6-foot-1, 182 pounder. "Virginia, Clemson, Duke, Marshall, LSU, and Wake Forest are all also sending me letters. One of my favorites, Florida State, is not sending anything yet, but I think they will."

While Pinkney did use his athletic ability to rush for 958 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, he says that he really would only play another position if he had no other choice.

"In a way, if a team were to offer at another position, it could hurt them, but it all really depends on the situation."

At the moment, Patrick has visited just one school unofficially, North Carolina for its Junior Day, but has a whirlwind tour of camps lined up for this summer.

"I am going to North Carolina and Duke for their one day camps, Virginia and NC State for their three day camps, and the Nike Camp in Blacksburg."
