"It feel great to have my decision made," said Fields. "It is a real stress relief. Coach Bzdelik and Coach Pope as well as the other coaches and players at Wake really made me feel at home."
Many factors went into Fields' decision to become a Demon Deacon.
"Academics were always important to me. Also, I have a great relationship with Coach Bzdelik. We really hit it off."
Coach Bzdelik has big plans and expectations for Fields when he arrives at Wake this summer.
"Coach wants me to come in and be a leader. I take a lot of pride in my on the ball defense and he likes that. I also want to come in and help direct the offense and be a change of tempo guard."
Fields did not take the easy road to the ACC and plans to keep that chip on his shoulder for awhile.
"For a long time, people have said I might be too small to play in the ACC and I was a mid-major guard. I just worked hard and proved myself on the court this season. I see the chance to play at Wake as another opportunity to prove myself. I am going to keep working and keep that chip on my shoulder."
