Rountree Earning Offers

2012 SG/SF Aaron Rountree has a rare combination of size and skill. The 6'8 190 pound basketballer has enjoyed a fantastic 2010-2011 season and has recently earned a big-time ACC offer.

Aaron Rountree is what many experts would call a "stat stuffer." He is averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 6 blocks, and 2 steals per contest in his first year at Greenfield School. Rountree has multiple triple doubles thus far, all while playing the point guard position.

"This season got off to a bit of a rough start," says Rountree. "We needed time to gel and come together as a team. I think we are on track now and have recently had big wins over Trinity and United Faith."

Rountree has worked hard on his game and has the ability to help his team in multiple ways when he takes the court.

"I think my versatility is my biggest strength. I also have a good basketball I.Q. and I play hard on both ends of the court. I take a lot of pride in my defense."

Despite his individual success so far, Rountree is staying focused on one primary goal.

"I just want to keep getting better and win a State Title. That is my main goal."

Rountree claims offers from Colorado, UNC Wilmington, Elon, UNC Greensboro and most recently Wake Forest. He is also getting interest from Harvard, Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and East Carolina.

Previous to earning an offer from Wake Forest, Rountree was able to visit Winston-Salem to see the Deacs take on Duke.

"I had a really good visit to Wake. It was my first time there as a recruit. It was a tough game for them but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and facilities at Wake."

Rountree has no timetable for a decision but made it clear he is looking for a good academic school as well as somewhere he can come in and play early.

Rountree would be a terrific way for coach Bzdelik to start of his 2012 recruiting class. He is very versatile and skilled player that can help a team win games in many different ways. He is also a very high character young man that will represent his university well both on and off the court.
