Hunter Goodwin
Size: 6-6, 280 pounds
Hometown: Gilman School, Baltimore, Maryland
Scout.com rating: three-star
Projected position at WFU: Offensive Tackle

Commitment date: 4/04/2010

Strengths and improvements: Goodwin has impressive size going in, and the potential to keep adding muscle/strength.

Why WFU: "I love the academics. One of my favorite things is the coaches; they're there for more than just the football. They're really trying to develop you as a person and a player, and they're people you can really bond with in the four or five years you're there.

"My parents told me they were always very happy with me decision, but now after coming to my official with me, it's like they're completely on board. They've finally been given the opportunity to see what I'll be going through. They wouldn't want me anywhere else.

"My visit gave me a real look at the amount of work I have ahead of me; it was a nice little indicator.."

Coach Quotes (Coach Poggi): "Hunter is a great kid; he really is. He's a 6-6, 280 lb athlete but was an Eagle Scout, and has tremendously high character. He's a very thoughtful kid and has great faith.

"He's intelligent, and very coachable. You can't create a 6-6, 280 player, and he'll be a 300 pound guy. He's got a good, hard-working ethic, and will give Wake everything he's got. He really kind of came on and started putting it all together. He has a huge upside

"Four years from now I see him starting, contributing to the team, and getting Wake back to the point where they can win the league. We really saw him change as a junior.
