Projected Position at WFU: Running back

Why WFU: "Wake Forest would be a better place to live and get an education. I just like the environment and the vibe down there. They can offer me a good education, and a lifetime commitment. I'm solid. Wake will be the better place for me to live and get an education."

Strengths and improvements: Martin has been recruited on both offense and defense, with notable skills on both sides of the ball. With special team experience and a wide range of talent Wake will be able to use him in multiple positions if necessary. "Mostly running, scoring, making good plays, and going hard."

Coach Quotes: "I saw the potential in him from the time he was on JV. Everything materialized for him, and he was able to take advantage of all his talents in his final season. It started from last spring, and never stopped. That's why he's in the position he's in now. He's able to set himself apart and excel under all the circumstances of his surroundings."

"I've known him for the past four years, and he's been an exemplary kid. He's had no problems whatsoever, gets it done in the classroom, and is able to accomplish all the things he needs."

"He's a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional player who will be adding value to their team. He's been recruited on both sides of the ball and at such a high level, in case of necessity, he can be moved around. He'll add depth to many other areas; you never know what will present itself. I feel Wake really made their overall value increase by offering Deandre. His commitment is as solid as it comes."

"His senior football season I'd like to see him running for All-ACC and getting looks from the NFL. The biggest part is getting a Wake Forest degree, and earning the right to say he's a bachelor of some sort of science."
