Jankovic made a tough decision when he decided to transfer to Huntington Prep during the middle of the season.
"My time here at Huntington has gone well so far," says Jankovic. "We could play better but lately we have played good. We had a close loss to Findlay Prep but overall we are coming along."
"As far as my individual play, it has been a tough transition to Huntington but I am getting there. I just need to be more consistent. Coming in to Huntington during the season I think I had to prove myself. There are great players here and I have had to earn the trust of my teammates."
Despite a few ups and downs along the way, the talent and skill of Jankovic is undeniable.
"The main strength of my game is my versatility. I am a 6'10 hybrid forward. I can play on the wing and I am also working on my interior game. I also have the ability to attack the basket and create for my teammates. I still need to work on gaining strength and being consistent on defense but I think I have surprising athleticism."
Jankovic holds offers from Wake Forest, Georgetown, South Florida, Miami, Northwestern, and others.
Wake Forest has made it clear that Jankovic is at the top of their list and he is a priority recruit for Coach Bzdelik and his staff.
"I love Wake Forest. They are at the top of my list for sure right now. Coach Bzdelik and Coach Pope both watched me a lot when I was at Kiski and now that I am at Huntington. I have a great relationship with Coach Pope. We talk about basketball as well as other things besides my recruitment. He is a great guy."
Jankovic has not visited Wake Forest yet but hopes to do so in the near future.
"I have not visited yet due to scheduling conflicts. I plan on visiting next weekend for the N.C. State game. I am 90% sure I will be there. I am anxious to check it out."
Jankovic knows what he is looking for in a college and Wake Forest seems to fit the bill.
"Location is not important at all. I want to go somewhere that has a good basketball tradition. I also need to have a really good relationship with the coaches as well. I also want to go somewhere that fits my style of play. I see myself as a 3/4 and not a center by any means. Academics are also very important to me. I need a good degree in case a career in basketball does not work out." Jankovic would be a perfect fit at Wake Forest and in Coach Bzdelik's system. He is a true face up 3/4 that can extend a defense and really be a nightmare to guard for opposing teams. He can get his own shot but also has the ability to make his teammates better.
