Barcliff Names Two Favorites

One of the better running backs from the state of Virginia in the class of 2004 is out of George Wythe High School in Wytheville. That prospect, Robert Barcliff, currently has two favorites in the recruiting process – both ACC schools.

George Wythe High School's Robert Barcliff is a 5'10, 195 pound prospect out of Wytheville, Virginia. A quick running back, Barcliff runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds.

This past season, Barcliff rushed for 2,180 yards on the way to a 28-touchdown season. Also an outside linebacker and safety, Barcliff has seen lots of college interest early on.

"I've heard from UVa a lot, Wake Forest, Maryland, a little from Boston College, East Tennessee State, and JMU," Barcliff said. Asked for his favorites, Barcliff named two, "UVa and Wake Forest."

"I like Wake Forest because of the academics," Barcliff said. "They've got great programs there. And Virginia's really the same way. I've been to both schools to basketball games and stuff on unofficial visits."

As for future visits, Barcliff has no more visits planned at this point other than a trip to a couple camps. "I'm going to the Maryland camp June 22nd and then coming back from Maryland and going straight to UVa on the 26th," Barcliff said. "Then I'm going to Wake Forest on June 8th. I'm also going to the Nike camp May 17th."
