Joshua Wilhite talks decision
"It feels great. I feel like I made the right decision," the 5-10, 187-pound athlete said. "I like the campus. I haven't been there yet but I like the coaches too, and I'm hearing a lot of good things."
Prior to his commitment, Wilhite was hearing from Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Northwestern among others, and had an additional offer from Tulsa.
Wilhite explained more on the decision.
"I was talking to my dad about it, and I said, it's going to be a lot going through this stuff during season, so I might as well do it now," Wilhite explained. "I've been getting calls from all the coaches at my school; they're very excited."
The Hightower High School senior described how the offer developed.
"Wake Forest came to my school," Wilhite said. "I saw the coach once, and he gave me the "eye test." That night I got a call.
"Coach Russ has been pretty cool. He's being real with me, and not just telling me what I wanted to hear."
For the remainder of the summer Wilhite is, "working out three times a day so I can get bigger, faster and stronger, and be the best I can be."
