Will Holden delaying decision

Will Holden, an offensive lineman from the Sunshine State, recently wrapped up a summer of visits, checking out the programs of potential future schools with plans of trimming down his list. Though he'd planned on firming up the decision, the Clay High School senior has taken a different route, deciding instead to explore his options even further.

"I had kind of narrowed it down and thought I was going to make my decision, but then I decided to hold off," the 6-6, 271-pound athlete said.

"I'm reconsidering a few more schools. I'm talking to UCF and FSU, so I've added a couple."

Holden discussed his initial considerations for picking a school.

"Starting out, it was definitely important that they had my major. I want to major in Socioligoy or Criminology. Also how the coaches interacted with each other, and how the team interacted with them. I wanted a family atmosphere. I don't want to go somewhere where there's no family involved."

"Location isn't a factor," he added.

The Green Cove Springs, Fla. athlete has been in regular contact with a number of his offered schools as well as those he's opening his options to.

"I talked to Coach Elrod at Wake last night, and Coach Dugans from Louisville. I also talked to Coach Trickett from FSU.

"We have a pretty good relationship," he continued. "I just talked to them and asked questions I had about the school. I visited all of them over the summer.

"All the coaches have been callin me and staying in touch."

Holden explained he might not take all of his official visits but is, "definitely planning on taking a few."

Holden discussed who's sticking at the top of the list and when he'll make his decision.

"I still like Wake Forest, Lousiville and West Virginia," he explained. "I also like Vanderbilt and FSU, so I'm not making my decision yet. I want to make it some time in the next couple of months; I don't want to wait until the last minute."
