Signing Day Interview: Andre Washington

Not many 7-footers in the 2012 class have the skill level and potential of Andre Washington. The talented big man signed his official letter of intent to attend Wake Forest University during a ceremony Wednesday at Hargrave Military Academy.

DeaconSports: Andre, how does it feel to officially be a Demon Deacon?
Andre Washington: "Man it feels great. Almost like it did when I committed but now everything is official. I can see my next set of goals right in front of me."

DS: Did you always feel like you were going to play college ball for a high level program like Wake?
AW: "When I was younger I didn't think I would get an ACC scholarship. During my sophomore and junior season I began to realize I had the ability to play D1 basketball."

DS: What skills are you going to bring to the Wake Forest team?
AW: "I think I can provide inside scoring as well as offensive and defensive rebounding. I am also a good shot blocker. I will do whatever I can to help us win."

DS: What are your expectations for the future of Wake basketball?
AW: "I expect to win a national championship. We just have to put in the work."
