Hayworth Returns From WFU Official

In early August, Wake Forest received a commitment from Tennessee offensive lineman Tyler Hayworth. Since then, Hayworth finished a successful season, has remained committed to Wake Forest and, this past weekend, took his official visit to Wake Forest.

This season was a successful one for Tyler Hayworth and his Dobyns-Bennett teammates. "We had a pretty good season," Hayworth said. "We went 11-1 and got beat in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Other than that, I've been working out and getting ready to head up there in July. I've kept in good contact with Coach Lobo throughout."

This past weekend, Hayworth took his official visit to Wake Forest. While he has been up to Wake many times previously, this visit assured him that he wanted to be a Demon Deacon. "I came up there and confirmed everything that I already knew about the school, campus, and how things are set up. It was perfect. It was awesome."

Hayworth arrived Friday evening and left a little before noon on Sunday. "I toured all the campus, watched the Wake-NC State basketball game, I talked to some professors and academic counselors. Then we hung with the coaches Lobo and some players. I feel like I fit in perfect."

Two other prospects visited this past weekend as well, Zach Gordon and Quinshad Davis. Gordon is committed to Wake Forest while Davis is considering the Deacs, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee among others. "I talked to [Davis] a bunch," said Hayworth. "He seemed to really like it up there and liked that it was a smaller campus . He's got a big decision ahead evidently. Hopefully he's a Deac."

Hayworth, who visited with his mom and dad, has returned home and will continue to workout prior to his arrival at Wake Forest in July. He is expected to begin his career playing left guard for the Demon Deacons.

Hayworth will sign with Wake Forest on the morning of February 1st during a press conference at the field house at Dobyns-Bennett High School.
