2013 Guard Talks Recruiting

One of the emerging targets for Wake Forest in the 2013 class is 6'6 shooting guard Davon Reed. Earlier this season Reed eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark and as big as that was, his main concern is helping Princeton Day School (NJ) get wins.

DeaconSports: How's the season going so far, Davon?
Davon Reed: "It's going really good so far. We have lost a couple games we probably shouldn't have but we are coming together as a team and playing well right now."

DS: How do you feel you are playing individually?
DR: "I feel like I'm playing well but I'm never satisfied. There is always something I can get better at."

DS: How did feel to eclipse the 1,000 point mark for your high school career.
DR: "It felt great. I knew it would happen at some point this year. I'm just blessed to have great coaches and teammates that help me reach that goal."

DS: Which colleges are you hearing from right now?
DR: "I'm hearing a lot from Wake Forest, Harvard, Virginia Tech as well as Northwestern, Xavier, Penn State, Temple, West Virginia, Seton Hall, Richmond, VCU, St. Joes, Rutgers and a few others."

DS: What are you looking for in a school during the process?
DR: "I'm just looking for the right fit. I like to play uptempo and get out and run. I also want to have a chance to play for championships. Academics are also very important to me. I want to major in sports marketing."
