Wake Forest will play ACC road games at Florida State, Maryland, Virginia and NC State while also paying its first-ever visit to Notre Dame.
The Deacons will open the 2012 season with four home games in the first five weeks of the season. After starting at home with Football Championship Subdivision member Liberty on September 1, the Deacons will begin ACC play at BB&T Field against North Carolina on Sept. 8. Wake Forest will visit Florida State on Sept. 15 and return home to face Army on Sept. 22 and Duke on Sept. 29.
The Deacons travel to Maryland on Oct. 6 and have an open date on Oct. 13. Wake Forest will then play at Virginia on Oct. 20 and host Clemson in a Thursday night game on Oct. 25.
In November, Wake Forest will host Boston College on Nov. 3 and then close out ACC play at NC State on Nov. 10. The Deacons finish the season with a pair of non-conference games, visiting Notre Dame on Nov. 17 and hosting Vanderbilt on Nov. 24.
"I really like our schedule," said head coach Jim Grobe. "I like the way it breaks out. We've got an open date right in the middle of the schedule which is good for us. We get to play on Thursday night (against Clemson) which will be really cool for our players and our fans. I think it's a really good schedule for us, just a lot of good football teams on this schedule. We're going to have to play hard every week."
Wake Forest played seven home games in 2011, 2009 and 2008. The 2003 season marked the first time Wake Forest had ever played seven games at home.
