Deacs Fall In ACC Tourney 1st Round

ATLANTA - In the opening game of the ACC Tournament, Wake Forest was beaten handily by the Maryland Terrapins 82-60. With the loss, the Deacons will end their season at 13-18.

Wake Forest hung in the game with the Terrapins in the 1st half and trailed 36-31 at halftime. Deacon guard C.J. Harris scored 13 in the half to keep the Deacs in the game.

Maryland took over in the 2nd half, however. Terrapin Terrell Stoglin scored nine points in less than a minute early in the half as a part of a 20-2 run to propel the Terrapins to the victory.

The Terrapins were paced by Stoglin who finished with 25 points in the win. Nick Faust added 19 for Maryland.

Wake Forest was led in scoring by Travis McKie who finished with 22 points. Senior Nikita Mescheriakov scored 16 for the Demon Deacons in his final game at Wake Forest. C.J. Harris finished with 14 points.
