WR With Wake Offer

Robinson (VA) wide receiver Clarence Vaughn has some big shoes to fill, but after his performance at a recent football camp, he could exceed expectations.

"Wake Forest offered me a scholarship after their camp, and a lot of other schools want me to come to their camp so they can figure out what they want to do," says the 6-foot-2, 190 pounder who ran a 4.38 40 at the camp. The level of interest by the schools could be founded in his recent moving to the area.

"I moved here last year from Colorado, and we had guys like (WR) Chase Anastacio and (TE) John Kinzer who both signed with great schools, and our coach wanted to get them the ball since they were seniors."

Even with the focus on the two upperclassmen for receiving in a running offense, Vaughn kept his head up knowing that his time would come this season. He certainly has a great frame, runs crisp routes, and knows how to use his strength and speed. So if teams want to see that in-person, what camps will he be able to attend this year?

"I was asked to go down to the North Carolina camp (6/21), but I won't be able to go. I am tired from all the team stuff we had to do like the 7-on-7 tournaments, and I want to take a break. My parents and I are trying to go up to the Ohio State camp the 25th of June."

When asked of his favorites, Vaughn had four on his list.

"Actually, even though I just moved from Colorado, I was raised in North Carolina, and my favorite schools growing up were Wake Forest, NC State, North Carolina, and Colorado."
