Borders hoping for a WFU offer

Breon Borders has already picked up an offer from Duke and now he's hoping another North Carolina school pulls the trigger with an offer. Borders spoke with DeaconSports regarding his recruitment...

The Statesville cornerback received an offer from Duke several weeks ago and he admits the Blue Devils have the inside track because of that.

"I'd say Duke is sticking out now just because of the offer," he told DeaconSports. "I don't think I'm going to make a decision anytime soon though. I'm probably just going to wait it out and see what happens."

Borders was a relative unknown until his junior season. He burst onto the scene with 49 tackles and an impressive eight picks, which ranked near the top of the state rankings regardless of class or division.

While most recruiting observers and fans are just starting to learn about the 6-1, 170-pound prospect the Deacons have known about him for a while.

"I went to Wake Forest for a junior day earlier and they're sending me a lot of mail," he said.

"I thought it was just beautiful down there. It was a real cool place. I came away thinking it was just nice. I think I'm going back up there for a visit real soon so we'll see what happens. I'm hoping they offer."

Every school that Borders has heard from so far has told him they're recruiting him to play cornerback.
