"I call the offensive line coach and Coach Galloway from up there," Floyd said. "I try to keep in contact with them weekly. I've taken two visits so far. I went up there [the] Saturday [before last] and I went up for the junior day as well."
Floyd said he received a lot of good information from the coaches and everyone at the junior day. "They told us how the school is academically and how good the program is," Floyd said.
"The last Saturday I was up there was for a practice. It was good to see how the offensive line practices. I liked it. I think they get after it. I saw the offensive line really working. They need some help."
Does that mean Floyd sees the potential for early playing time if he ends up with Wake? "Definitely, that's what I was talking about with them," he said. "Before the practice started they told me most of those guys were fighting for their position and they've haven't played since high school. I think four of their top five linemen just graduated."
Early playing time, academics, stable program provide Floyd with a solid potential opportunity that has put the Deacs on his favorite list early. "I'm really liking Wake. They're definitely in my top three schools. My top three is Wake Forest, ECU and UNC-Charlotte," he said.
Floyd discussed what he likes about the other schools on his list.
"ECU was the first school to offer me. They were kind of that team...if they're going to show that kind of interest in me then I'm going to give them my interest.
"UNCC, I went up there on Wednesday and I really like the campus. There I would have a chance to play my freshman year. That would be their first class for football. I like that. Their players don't even start coming in until late August."
Floyd said he wants to make his decision around the middle of the summer.
