Deacs offer Florida cornerback

Wake Forest continues to do work in the talent-rich state of Florida. One of the latest offers the Deacs have extended in the state went to Marcus Davis, a 5-9, 170-pound cornerback from Delray Beach (FL) American Heritage School.

Davis isn't exactly an unknown. He's got offers from Boston College, Duke, Western Kentucky and FIU plus interest from many more.

"My head coach told me I have an offer from Wake Forest the other day," Davis said. "He had been in his office earlier in the day and he got all my information so he could send it off.

"Later that day he told me they had offered. I called the Wake Forest coaches but they were busy with their spring game and things like that. I haven't talked to them yet but I'm going to."

Davis has a lot to learn about the Deacons but he's intent on speaking with the coaches at length. "I just caught them at a bad time," he continued. "I know they're in the ACC but that's about all I know. I know it's a private school too. I would definitely take a visit right now. As of right now for sure, we're going to go."

With the offer in hand from Wake, Davis plans to make a visit to Winston-Salem. Davis' coach at American Heritage told him that Wake Forest is a good school with a nice atmosphere. He has promised Davis to take him up to Winston-Salem in June.

Prior to Wake Forest the most recent school to offer Davis was FIU. Despite the offers and interest from schools along the east coast, Davis does not have leaders just yet. "Right now I still don't have any favorites," he concluded.
