"I was offered by Wake Forest about two weeks ago," Jenkins said. "I've been talking to their wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway and I plan to visit Wake Forest sometime over the summer."
Jenkins has never been to Winston-Salem and he had never given the Deacs a ton of thought until that offer came in. He did have a chance to watch them play once last year.
"I saw them play against Clemson last year so I know they like to throw the ball around a lot on offense," he noted. "I know they had a receiver, Chris Givens, who led the ACC in receiving too. That's something I like about them."
Jenkins plans to sit down and narrow his list after spring practice is over at Lassiter. With so many good options, and other potential options on the horizon, that will be a chore.
This spring he visited Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn and Clemson for junior days. The spring is when he picked up five new offers and really became known as one of the top wide outs in the South.
Jenkins pointed to Oklahoma State, Georgia and Alabama as schools that are very interested and may offer. All have coaches that will stop by Lassiter to get a glimpse of him in the weeks ahead.
