Davis will visit Wake Forest

Wake Forest may not have any commitments yet in 2013 but the Deacs look good with a number of prospects. Once again that's especially true in Florida where Wake has cast a wide net. One recruit the Deacs look especially well-positioned with is Marcus Davis, a 5-9, 170-pound athlete from American Heritage School in Delray Beach.

Davis said it has been a little while since he has spoken with the Wake coaches but they have offered him and he's strongly considering the Deacs.

"I know they're going to be down here soon so I'll meet up with them then," Davis told DeaconSports. "I haven't had much of a chance to talk to the coaches lately but they've told my coaches they were going to let me know I have an offer when they talk to me. They're going to call me sometime and then we'll talk more."

Davis has never visited Wake Forest but he knows a good bit about the Deacs because he has watched some guys from his area head up to Winston-Salem for college.

I know a couple of players from Palm Beach County that have gone up there. They've got a recruiting pipeline down here. It's another great opportunity to play in the ACC," Davis said.

He's got a few opportunities to play in the ACC. In addition to Wake Forest, Davis also has offers from Boston College and Duke. There's a good chance he lands in the ACC but he's also keeping an open mind and wants to find out who else plans on offering.

Does it help Wake having so many Floridians on the roster? "Yeah, having people from the same area helps," he said. "It's a good chance to play with people you know but also great players."
