Texas RB has three favorites

Wake Forest is one of several schools that has offered Texas running back Travorris Johnson and the Deacs are right in the hunt. Johnson claims he doesn't have any one clear favorite but this week the Houston (TX) Alief Taylor back told DeaconSports that there's a lot to like about Wake Forest.

"I haven't seen them play as much as some other schools because they aren't really close to here but I've heard a lot of good things about them," Johnson said.

"I've heard they have a lot of dudes that have gone to the NFL from there school so that's something you like to hear. I've also heard that they're up and coming in the football world, so that's pretty good."

Johnson has never visited Wake Forest but he said he would like to before he makes his decision. That decision will likely come before or during his senior season, so he doesn't want to drag the process out too long. If he waited until during his season that would allow him an opportunity to take an official visit to Wake Forest, as well as other schools that have offered such as Houston, SMU, Utah and Boise State.

Three schools are standing out above the competition. "Utah, Wake Forest and U of H (Houston) are really sticking out," Johnson said.

Derrick Jackson is recruiting Johnson for Wake Forest.

In February the Deacs received a letter of intent from Joshua Wilhite, another Texas running back.
