More on Demarcus Ayers

This past week, DeaconSports introduced Demarcus Ayers, a prospect that the Deacons offered out of the Lone Star State. Today, DeaconSports has more from Ayers...

One Texas recruit recently received an offer from the Deacs. That would be junior wide receiver Demarcus Ayers from Lancaster (TX). Though small in stature (5-10, 165-pounds) he's electrifying with the ball in his hands.

Illinois, Nevada, Tulsa and Washington State are some of the other schools that have offered Ayers.

"I got the Wake Forest offer just the other day," he recalled. "They offered me in the morning. That was the first time I had talked to them. I believe it was the receivers coach that had come down the first week of spring on a Tuesday to watch me practice. Then just the other day they offered me."

Ayers has plenty of time to learn more about the Deacs and he's hoping to visit the school at some point.

"I have watched a couple of their games on TV," he said. "I also know a little bit about their basketball program. I think I'm going to try to do more research on them and get up there whenever I have the chance."

Ayers went on to say that he's hoping to visit Wake Forest, Oregon, Washington State, Washington and Arizona State this summer.

"I've already got an offer from Washington State and I think Arizona State is going to wait to offer me in person," he noted. "I should get one from them soon. Oregon, I've got a lot of mail from them. I've been talking to all the schools I want to visit."

Ayers also noted that he will know more about favorites after he takes some summer visits.
