TX OL close to an offer?

The Woodlands puts out some of the top prospects in Texas on an annual basis and Wake Forest is impressed with a lineman from the school. That lineman is Sam Kronshage, a 6-5, 290-pound tackle who could also play guard at the next level.

With the spring winding down it appears the Deacs could be about to decide whether they're going to offer the Lone Star Stater or not.

"Their recruiting coordinator came down here," Kronshage said of Wake, "and then after he came down he sent the offensive line coach, Coach Himebauch, down here.

"They've both said they want me to go up and visit just to look around. They've said they're close to offering."

However, you can sense a little frustration that the Deacs haven't offered yet, even though a few other have.

"They've said they're going to offer but they still haven't done it yet. They're saying they want me to meet the coaches and check out the campus. We'll just have to see," he said.

Colorado, Duke and SMU have all offered Kronshage, and not surprisingly those are his three favorites, at least until other offers come in.

Interestingly, when asked what schools have been recruiting Kronshage the hardest he mentioned schools other than those that have offered.

"Since Wake Forest has been down here twice I guess I'd say they've been recruiting me the hardest. I've also had Oklahoma State come down twice. They also invited me down to their campus and for a camp, so I'd say Wake and Oklahoma State.

"Iowa State has also been sending me a lot of stuff."

It's unlikely that Kronshage will take his official visits as he plans to make his decision in the coming weeks.
