Deacs solid for Taylor

The Woodlands (TX) is home to one of the top tight ends in the Lone Star State and he's got an offer from Wake Forest. Jayme Taylor's first offer was from Wake but he has since picked up offers from Northwestern and Air Force.

The 6-4, 220-pound prospect told Deacon Sports that he picked up his offer from Wake close to the beginning of spring ball.

"It was probably about a month ago," Taylor said. "I've been keeping up with them since then. I briefly met with two of the coaches during spring football and we've tried to keep in touch at least once a week, so we've spoken a couple of times.

"I'm very interested in Wake Forest. I've heard a lot of good things about it. The ACC's a great place to play and I know the academics are great. There's supposed to be a great school environment there too. I've only heard great things about Wake."

This summer Taylor plans to visit all three of the schools that have offered and there's a chance he could make a decision before the start of his senior season, though he's not necessarily going to hold himself to that. He said he will probably just decide whenever he's sure of where he wants to be.

While Taylor is hesitant to list any favorites it sure sounds like the Demon Deacons may be out in front of the field.

"I don't know about favorites because I'm still trying to figure everything out. I don't want to make a decision too fast but I'm definitely really interested in Wake Forest," he said.
