Freeman Interested In Wake
Brent Freeman, a speedy player from South Forsyth High School in Cumming, Ga., is said to be very interested in Army. A 5-10, 180 safety/runningback, Freeman was timed at 4.5 at the Auburn Nike Camp in May. Reliable sources have informed ArmySports.com that Army Defensive Coordinator Dennis Therrell visited with Freeman in May. The meeting was said to have made Brent "very interested" in West Point. The source went on to say that Freeman hopes to visit the academy in fall. Freeman, who is primarily being recruited by several teams as a defensive back, was named All-County as a sophomore and All-Region as a junior. Over the past two seasons Freeman has tallied 135 tackles (90 solo), 4 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. Freeman is interested in several schools in addition to Army including Maryland, Louisville, MTSU, Army, Air Force, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Duke, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. Army, Vanderbilt and Duke are the current leaders. Freeman, who is considered an outstanding student, also excels in track. He holds school records for several events including the 100 meter, 200 meter, 4 x 100 relay, and 4 x 1600 medley relay.
