Anderson camping at Wake Forest

Kanyia Anderson has a perfect opportunity to earn an offer from Wake Forest. That opportunity will come on July 15 and that's because he plans to attend a camp in Winston-Salem on that day. An offer is far from a given, as the Deacs have had a string of commitments and can probably be a little bit more picky about offers.

It's clear that Wake Forest is interest in the Chesapeake (VA) Oscar Smith linebacker and they have been for some time. Anderson claims an offer from Cal even though the Bears don't seem to be near the top of his list but he would really love an offer from the Deacs.

"I've been talking to Wake Forest lately. I want to say it's coach Himebauch that I've been in touch with the most. I've been talking to three different coaches from up there. I talked to coach Himebauch, coach Jackson and coach Knorr so I've got a good relationship with them.

"That's a good ACC school in Winston-Salem. It's not too far away. It's really only a three or four hour drive so it's not too far."

Anderson has actually been to Wake Forest once before. That was for a camp last year. He didn't quite do enough to earn an offer but this time around he feels like he's better prepared to showcase what he can do.

"They want me to come down as a linebacker and show them whenever I can play outside linebacker for them," he said. "Last year it went pretty smooth. I didn't know a lot back them but I did get my name out there so they've had their eye on me since then. I started my 10th grade year but I didn't have a lot of film. I really had my breakout season my junior year."

If he has a breakout camp he may just pick up an offer he's been waiting for.
