Tetlow has a spot waiting for him

Most of the offensive linemen that had been on Wake Forest's radar have been notified that the Deacs no longer have room for them...

That's honesty from the coaching staff because of the recent commitments at the position this summer. One player still has a scholarship from the Deacs and that's a testament to what the coaches think of his ability.

Enter Eric Tetlow, the Richmond (VA) lineman with offers from Boston College, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Florida, Temple and others. At 6-6 and 290 you couldn't draw up a prep lineman with a more ideal frame. The Deacons have been recruiting Tetlow hard for months now and they are still right in the hunt.

"I'm still greatly involved with Wake Forest. I really like coach Himebauch down there and I really like coach Grobe," Tetlow said.

"They've told me I still have a scholarship and they're still really high on my list. I went down there on June 2 right before the Virginia Tech camp on June 3. When I was there I was able to talk to the coaches, tour the campus and see everything right before I went to camp at Blacksburg."

The Deacons have offered while the Hokies haven't and it's a good bet that Wake will be one of his finalists right up until the time when he makes his choice.

"The school was amazing," he exclaimed. "It's exactly what you'd expect in a college. There's a big quad with lots of trees surrounding it and nice brick buildings. There are only about 4,000 students so you've got that real at-home feeling there. Everyone there is great."

Tetlow is planning to sit down and eliminate some of the schools on his list before too long and maybe as soon as this week. How does he think it will play out?

"I know for sure that Wake Forest, Maryland, South Florida, Boston College and Purdue will make it. I'm not exactly positive which schools will make the list but I have a pretty decent idea," he said. "A lot of the main schools that have been recruiting me. I'm going to step back and look at academics on the first cut down."
