State Off Hall's List?

A recent internet report failed to mention the N.C. State Wolfpack as one of the schools that Marshville (NC) Lineman Marque Hall was interested in. <P> StateFans reached Marque last night to find out if this was true.

"[Laughing] Yes, of course I'm still looking at State," Marque Hall told StateFans. "I'm looking at everybody right now and I haven't even cut my list yet. It's going to be a while before I do that because I still need to see all of the schools that are recruiting me. I don't even have a top list yet because I'm open to everybody." Hall, the #8 Offensive Lineman in the nation according to TheInsiders.com, is approaching twenty offers and even he's losing count.

"Well, it seems like everyone wants me. The offers I know off the top of my head are from [NC] State, [North] Carolina, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Georgia, Penn State, and I know there are some others too. I want to get to know all of these colleges and that's why I'm still open."

"Virginia and Carolina are probably recruiting me the hardest. Well, I think I get the most letters from those two so you can say that."

Marque was only able to make one camp this spring, but he hopes to attend another this summer.

"I did go to Carolina for the one-day camp and it went good. I learned some good stuff from them while up there and I want to camp at some other places this summer if I can find a way."

Hall could end up on the defensive or offensive line at the next level, but he really doesn't seem to have a preference at the moment.

"I like both positions and schools are recruiting me to play Defensive Tackle and Offensive Tackle. I think I'm good at either so it don't matter much to me."

Hall is also a track standout, and he may have the chance to play both sports in college.

"Yes sir, I'm a state champion in the shot put and discus. Colleges have said I can do track in the spring if I want."

While in Raleigh for the State Track and Field Championships, Marque was able to take an unofficial visit to N.C. State. He liked what he saw and believes the Wolfpack have a bright future.

"The State Championships were at State and I saw their new facilities when I was up there. It's nice, real nice."

"State's going to be real good this year because they have alot of good players coming back. I met Coach Amato and he's a cool guy. He even came by my school in May."

Look for Marque to make a February decision and it looks like the Wolfpack are in fact still in the picture.
