Schools still recruiting Watson

At the beginning of July, DeaconSports spoke with Wake Forest commitment Brad Watson and he was pretty clear in his message. He didn't plan on wavering in his commitment to Jim Grobe's program. He left little doubt about that. While he remains committed, he may take other official visits.

Now however that could be changing. "A lot of schools are still coming after me," Brad Watson said. "I'm 100-percent a Deacon. I've just got to keep my mind straight and ignore all that.

"Tulsa, SMU, Vanderbilt and Purdue are some of (the schools) that are still coming."

But that's not the end of the story. Watson told DeaconSports that he believes his official visit to Wake Forest will be"(his) last official visit", implying there would be others.

When pressed it was clear that he intends to take others. "I plan on taking some," he said. "Probably not all five. Probably two or three. I don't know yet. I've definitely got to figure that out soon.

"But I'm solid with Wake. I took an unofficial there during the summer and really liked it. I felt comfortable meeting the players, especially the guy who was a freshman All-American corner last year."

That was a good message for the 6-1, 180-pound corner, because he will be playing in the secondary with the Deacs too.

Through two games Westwood High School is 2-0.
