2014 DT takes in Deacs' big win

Deshaywn Middleton is a defensive tackle worth your attention if you follow football in the state of North Carolina. NC State is the only BCS program in the state that has offered Middleton, but several smaller programs have as well, and Wake Forest is just one of several ACC schools showing interest in the Parkland lineman.

As a resident of Winston-Salem, Middleton is very familiar with the Deacs, to say the least. He would love an offer from Jim Grobe and in another sign of his interest in the program he visited the school during their game against North Carolina last Saturday.

"Yeah, I was there on Saturday for the Chapel Hill game," he said. "It went very well. Right when I walked in they had good treatment for me. I had very good treatment the whole time I was there. It was nice."

In what was surely one of the bigger home wins in recent memory, given the fact that it was a chance for the Deacs to move to 2-0 and reassert itself against a new coach from the Heels, Middleton was impressed with the atmosphere.

"The game itself was live the whole time. The team itself is live," he commented. "The players and the crowd were great. I loved the way the fans are. They showed me a lot. It was a good atmosphere. That really impressed me."

After the game Middleton was able to hang out with some of the players and he found the personable, to say the least. "The players were real nice. The crowd was too. I really enjoyed myself," he said.

It won't be the last time Middleton attends a game at Wake Forest this season. He told DeaconSports that he will return for their game against Clemson next month.

"I talked to the D-Line coach and he was like, 'Just keep in contact. Facebook me a little more,' and he told me he would come to some of my games."
