Ricks enjoys WFU visit

Terence Ricks, a linebacker out of Virginia, visited Wake Forest for their Junior Day this past weekend. Ricks discussed his visit to Winston-Salem with DeaconSports.

Terence Ricks has spoken with Jonathan Himebauch, whom he affectionately calls "Himey," on five separate occasions. While that nickname is commonly associated with the Wake Forest assistant, one of the Deacs' top recruiters, it's obvious that Ricks has a special bond with Himebauch. "He's a real cool dude," Ricks said.

Himebauch started talking to the Chesapeake (VA) Western Branch outside linebacker at the start of this year and has let him know that he would like him to attend one of Wake's camps this summer. That might be Ricks' best opportunity to earn an offer.

Ricks showed up at Wake's Junior Day on Saturday and commented on how nice facilities were and how impressed he was with the academic prestige of the university.

"We watched practice and I watched the running backs to see how they were doing their stuff," he added. "The running backs coach really likes me. They run a spread offense and I like how they run it. They really like to spread it out."

While the 6-2, 210-pound recruit is a linebacker to some, he's a running back to the Deacs. Most of his statistics were accumulated on the defensive side of the ball last year. He had 40 tackles, 15 sacks, three tackles for loss and two blocked punts.

Don't expect Ricks to slow down anytime soon. He visits Virginia Tech on April 6. It's another school that stands out at Ricks' favorite.

"Michigan State," he said. "I really like them. They've contacted my coach twice. I got invited to their Junior Day and I would love to go up there. I want to visit Rutgers and some schools up that way close to New Jersey. But if I could pick any school it would be Clemson."
