Hoyer Headed To MSU

We felt it was just a matter of when Brian Hoyer would pick MSU. Early in the recruiting process we came away with a feeling Brain and his family really liked what they saw from the Spartans and now he's given them a verbal.

While most in the state looked for Brian Hoyer to head south to Columbus, the Buckeyes never really got into the race. Hoyer the signal caller at Cleveland St. Ignatius High School is following the path of former Wildcat QB Dave Ragone. Ragone after high school played for new Michigan State Coach John L. Smith at the University of Louisville.

In a battle of recruiting, Michigan State got an early lead for Brian, who many considered the top QB prospect in Ohio and was able to hold off several schools like South Carolina, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Ohio State, Duke, Bowling Green, Michigan and Cincinnati. The Spartans were the first to offer Brian a scholarship and in past conversations with Brian and his father I found both were impressed with what they saw at MSU.
