Vaughn Favors Wake Forest

Fairfax (VA) Robinson Secondary WR Clarence Vaughn hopes to attend college in North Carolina, and the Wolfpack have made his short list.

"I like Wake Forest, NC State, Colorado, and Virginia," Vaughn told StateFans. "Those are the main schools I'm interested in right now. I was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina and still have family down in Winston-Salem, so I'm hoping to go to school in North Carolina."

Clarence was an impressive talent at the Blacksburg NIKE Camp, but it was at a local college combine where he put on a show.

"I did good at the Wake Forest camp and they offered me a scholarship. I ran a 4.38 40 and measured in at 6'2 and 200 pounds. Also, during the drills and workouts I stood out. It was a good combine for me and I'm glad they offered."

"I've visited Wake Forest, Colorado, and Virginia. They all have good programs and nice schools, but right now I'm leaning towards Wake because I have family down there and the offense fits me. They are a team on the rise and I wouldn't mind helping them reach the next level."

As for N.C. State, if the Wolfpack turn up the heat, they could definitely get back in the picture for Vaughn.

"It's a good school and I love their whole offense and passing game. They always have good teams and the coaching staff there seems great. I would really look at them harder if they offered."

Clarence expects to announce before his senior year starts, and as of right now, Head Coach Jim Grobe and the Demon Deacons are out front.
