The Deacs (6-6) are headed to Annapolis, Maryland to face Temple (10-3) at 3:30 p.m. on December 27 in the Northrop Grumman Military Bowl.
This is Wake's first trip to postseason play in five years, coming in Dave Clawson's third year at the helm. The Deacs ran off to a quick 5-1 start with road wins at Indiana and Duke, but faltered late having lost their last three of the regular season.
The Deacs have quite a challenge ahead of them in their quest to finish off their first winning season since 2008.
The Temple Owls won the American Athletic Conference Championship Saturday with a 34-10 victory over No. 25 Navy, their seventh-consecutive win. The Owls lost to Army 28-13 in their season opener, but topped Tulane 31-0 on Nov. 19.
More details later this evening.
