WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — If the Deacs are distracted, you couldn't tell from their spirited two-hour workout Thursday morning in McCreary Field House.
Wake (6-6) is gearing up for its Military Bowl match up Dec. 27 against the Temple Owls (10-3), champions of the American Athletic Conference.
But after practice, Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson took a few minutes to address the proverbial elephant in the room — the Wakeyleaks story that has dominated the college football world since Tuesday night's press release detailed the results of Wake's investigation.
According to Clawson, he's "never experienced this level of betrayal in coaching."
"This is a big deal," Clawson said. "It's not fair to our players and our coaches. It's not fair to our fans that we were compromised like this."
