Warren Braxton Named ACC DB of the Week

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior Warren Braxton was named ACC Defensive Back of the Week for his performance at Boston College on Saturday. The strong safety from Madison Heights, Va. scored the Deacons first touchdown of the 2003 season, scooping up a BC fumble and returning it 53 yards for the score. It was Wake¡¦s first fumble recovery for a TD since 2000.

The Demon Deacons went on to defeat the Eagles, 32-28. Braxton tied a team high with 11 tackles in the game, including nine solo stops.

The ACC weekly honor is the first such award for Braxton.

Wake Forest plays its first home game of the season this Saturday, when it hosts 11th-ranked NC State in a 12 noon showdown at Groves Stadium. The game will be broadcast regionally by ABC.
