Wake Forest Football Class of 2017 Signee: OL Loic Nya

Demon Deacon Digest takes a closer look at the newest Wake Forest signee.

Loic Nya played both ways in high school but will focus on the offensive line for Wake Forest. He was on Team Maryland Elite 100 as a defensive tackle, and was named first team defensive tackle on the All-Sentinel team. He picked Wake Forest over Coastal Carolina.

Nya: "Wake Forest is on the come-up, people need to stop sleeping on them because at the end of the day it's the best of both worlds and in the best conference of college football which makes it the total package."

From Scout's Brian Dohn: Nya is an intriguing prospect with a big upside. He is extemely raw, but very talented. He has quick feet, which allow for him to correct mistakes quickly and recover to win a rep when it looks like he will get beat. He has good length, is explosive and he plays with high energy. He has the athleticism to be a very good pulling guard, but he needs to work hard to improve his steps, and get stronger in the upper body to deal with college interior defensive linemen. His technique needs work, but his physical ability is impressive.
