Three Offers, Three Favorites For Melton

High Point Andrews quarterback Mario Melton has a full plate these days dealing with everything that's going on. Melton must keep his academics up and do everything a normal high schools senior must do, plus he must field calls from coaches who want to bring him to their respective schools.

And football season is in its prime. How are things going for the 6'2, 190-pound Mario Melton? "The season's going great," Melton said. "I'm just starting to settle in with the system we're running, relax, and have fun."

Melton, who has led Andrews to a 4-2 record early on, noted that he started slow but is now doing much better. "The first two games were shaky, but after that I've been good," he said.

Which schools are interested in Melton after seeing his early season performance? "Clemson, Wake, ECU, Morgan State, and N.C. State are my top schools," Melton said. And who has offered? "Morgan State has and Wake and Clemson, and that's it," he noted.

Right now, however, Melton has three favorites in Clemson, Wake Forest, and N.C. State. To date, he has just one visit set up – a trip to Clemson. "I'm going to Clemson on the 9th, 10th, and 11th of January," Melton said. "But I want to decide pretty soon, hopefully by the end of October."
