He's a 6-1, 180-pounder, who recently turned 17 in June of 2003. With a 4.46/4.5 (40), 4.24 (20-yard shuttle), 4.05 (pro agility) and a 31-inch (vertical), kid's got some good-lookin' measurables.
So where's the love?
No offers yet, but a great deal of contact from schools, both handwritten and by phone. Just last week, requests for senior film came from Rice, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Clemson and LSU.
Schools Clement's looking at: North Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Baylor, and Rice and anyone else showing serious interest (read: scholarship offers).
Bench Press: 265, Squat: 365.
2002 Stats: passed for 2,075 yards, 223 yards rushing, 30 TDs, All-District, 56% completion rate.
2003 Stats: In just 5 games, Clement's thrown for 1120 yards, with over 100 yards rushing, 11 TDs, 62% completion rate.
In July, Chase finished his 4th year at Archie and Peyton Manning's Passing Academy, where he gained valuable instruction from the likes of Major Applewhite (Texas), Tyler Watts (Alabama), David Greene (Georgia), and Eli Manning (Ole Miss).
A senior at Alamo Heights High in San Antonio, a very competitive school scholastically, Clement carries a 3.5 GPA, is an an honor roll student, scored an 1,100 on his SAT, and has also earned his Eagle Scout designation.
Somebody's going to get on the stick and make this kid an offer, possibly putting themselves in the lead for the Alamo Heights QB. Nothing like the feel of that first scholarship offer.
